Spring Lake Regional Park
Discover the picturesque Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa, a hub of recreational activities and natural beauty that draws visitors from far and wide. Located at 393 Violetti Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95409, this park offers ample opportunities for outdoor fun across its sprawling landscape.
Explore the vast grounds, featuring nearly ten miles of trls, including the 2.3-mile paved Spring Lake Loop Trl that surrounds the lake and provides breathtaking views of the forested hillsides. The multi-use trl caters to walkers, runners, cyclists, and is partially accessible according to ADA standards with a slight incline at its mn dam.
Experience diverse off-paved trls like Fisherman’s Trl and Horse Loop, offering less-traveled paths that intertwine with the paved loop for varied exploration opportunities around the lake. These trls connect with Trione-Annadel State Park and Santa Rosa's Howarth Park for an exted adventure experience.
Swim and Play at Spring Lake
Spring Lake hosts a swimming lagoon featuring a seasonal water park and lifeguard supervision from Memorial Day week through Labor Day. Enjoy the sandy beach, shaded lawns under redwoods, and multiple picnic sites spread across the area. Admission to the water park is $10-$12 per session, with online reservations highly recommed.
Children aged 6 or older must be at least 42 inches tall and proficient in swimming skills for access. The water lagoon undergoes regular chlorination, filtration, and quality testing to ensure it meets state standards.
Spring Lake Cafe
Inaugurated during the summer season of 2024, Spring Lake Cafe offers a delightful dining experience near the Swimming Lagoon Violetti Entrance. Serving burgers, hot dogs, tacos, grilled oysters, sandwiches, salads, candies, ice cream, cold drinks, and beer, the cafe operates Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Boating Adventures
Spring Lake, a pristine 72-acre reservoir for boating enthusiasts no gas engines allowed, provides an exciting experience. Ensure to wear floatation devices while boating or paddling on this lake surface sometimes marked by azolla - an aquatic fern whose growth fluctuates based on weather conditions and Regional Parks manage the necessary treatments.
Newanga Avenue Entrance: A year-round paved boat ramp accommodating boats up to 16 feet can be found at the of Newanga Avenue. Trlered boats electric motors only, kayaks, and paddleboards are accessible here.
Violetti Road Entrance: Kayaks and paddleboards are avlable for rental from Memorial Day week through Labor Day. Rentals are located near the parking area at the Violetti Road entrance.
Camping
Spring Lake offers 31 campsites nestled among oak woodland overlooking the lake, welcoming tenters, trler owners, RV travelers up to 31 feet, and visitors looking for sleeping cabin accommodations. Reservations required; make them online or call 707 539-8092 between Memorial Day week and Labor Day for free all-terrn wheelchr rentals.
Fishing Fun
Enjoy year-round fishing at Spring Lake, with a catch of large-mouth bass, sunfish, and catfish. A California fishing license is necessary for anglers aged 16 or older.
Parcourse Fitness Loop
Spring Lake features an accessible parcourse fitness circuit consisting of an 18-station route along the Spring Lake Loop trl. Each station includes instructional signs that demonstrate specific exercises.
Accessibility Features
Spring Lake Regional Park boasts wheelchr-accessible trls, picnic areas, campsites, and access to the Environmental Discovery Center. About a mile and half of the paved Spring Lake Loop Trl between the swimming lagoon parking area and boat launch ramp is moderately sloped for good accessibility, though there are brief stretches where cross slopes exceed standards.
Accessible all-terrn wheelchrs can be checked out at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis during Memorial Day week through Labor Day. Call 707 539-8092 to arrange use in advance.
