SYRCL's Fish Biologist, Danielle Conway, alongside Katy White from SYRCL’s Development Department, atted the USFS Kids’ Fishing Day event held at Packer Lake on the Yuba River. This annual event is geared towards introducing children to fishing in the national forest environment, offering educational opportunities that include information booths focused on ecology and invasive species management.
SYRCL's table was an active part of this day, engaging with parents and kids alike by sharing SYRCL’s mission and work med at protecting and restoring the Yuba River ecosystem. Posters featuring restoration efforts in areas such as forest health, meadow rejuvenation, and river rehabilitation were prominently displayed.
Hands-on Learning: Arts and crafts activities were provided to keep young attees engaged while they learned about the environmental aspects being protected by SYRCL. The interactive setup not only entertned children but also educated them on SYRCL's eavors in the watershed region.
This event served as an excellent platform for SYRCL to connect with local families and foster community awareness about our work towards restoring and mntning healthy ecosystems within the Yuba River basin. Visitors had the opportunity to learn how their participation can contribute to conservation efforts, thus creating a sense of stewardship among the community members.
